Dr. Artika R. Tyner is a passionate educator, author and advocate for justice. She is committed to training university students to serve as social engineers who create new inroads to justice and freedom in her professional capacity.
And in her “spare time” Dr. Tyner is also involved with much younger children. In 2017 she formed Planting People Growing Justice Institute (PPGJI.org) to “plant seeds of social change through education, training, and community outreach” as she explained in a recent article in the ABA Journal.
PPGJI focuses on diversity in children’s books by donating multicultural books to schools and community organizations, helping children with reading, and training leaders about reading diversity. Dr. Tyner’s energetic approach to these fundamental societal goals through PPGJI attracted the attention of Quantum Media.

Dr. Tyner’s nonprofit was selected by Quantum Media for its need for guidance on the best way to move forward. Quantum Principal’s Ava Seave and Jean Hellering helped answer questions about how to more effectively engage in branding and marketing for the organizations’ books and services as well as to more effectively find corporate sponsorships.
Key takeaways from the session include advice for PPGJI and Dr. Tyner to:
Dr. Tyner said that the Quantum Media written report and Zoom sessions will get her much closer to her immediate goal of having PPGJI.org become “sustainable.” #strategy #consulting #diversity #media #PPGJI
