Barrie Atkin published “Hate Fundraising” helps our clients and colleagues working with nonprofits

Barrie Atkin (a long time consultant and a Friend-of-Quantum) has a new book,  HATE FUNDRAISING?: How to Become Comfortable Asking for Money.  We have found this very efficient read to be  a great resource for our clients working with non profits and their Boards. It is a wonderful training piece to help nonprofit volunteers beef up their success in raising money by actually making them more comfortable asking. 

Very helpfully, the author describes that when she understood that by talking about the causes she cared deeply about to potential donors, she was giving them the opportunity to connect with her passion and involvement. She calls this a “paradigm shift.” Sharing what made her excited and what her friends and acquaintances could do to help the organization she was volunteering for made all the difference.

Plus, as the author says, “The money raised through fundraising allows organizations to focus on their mission… and make the world a better place.”

Indeed.
