The Metaverse Universe

The dramatic growth of the audience for interactive entertainment, especially for mobile gaming, has also created a significantly expanded, but untapped, addressable market. According to Ken Wee, chief strategy officer at Activision Blizzard, the stereotype of teenagers gaming in their parents' basements no longer applies, and the more than 3 billion users globally of connected devices are a demographically diverse group. In addition:
- Progress is still needed to maximize connection of different platforms across devices.
- Deeper social features must be introduced to appeal to newer players who don't self-identify as gamers.
- Trust and safety in the digital world are particularly important to younger audience members, who are concerned about data privacy and consumer protection.
User-generated content will become a larger part of the metaverse.
