Judi Allen is Vice President, Programming Strategy & Business Development, Time Warner Cable, based in Stamford, CT.
Previous to this position, as President and founder of ALLENStrategies, she used her unique perspective and skill set as a former television producer with a Harvard MBA to collaborate with her clients on business and creative issues, both strategic and tactical. Among the assignments completed by her consulting and interim management firm:
- Analysis and redeployment of creative assets that developed broadband strategy for a cable television media company
- Interim SVP marketing for a major Canadian broadcaster
- Subject matter expert and key leader on content strategy for a major new market entrant in multi-channel video distribution, and subsequently led the start-up phase of programming negotiations
- Interim general manager and head of marketing for a cable television network, led brand repositioning and new interdepartmental cooperation
Allen has over twenty years of experience as an executive and consultant for a wide variety of companies in the media, financial and information services sectors. She formerly served as Senior Vice President, Video for cable operator MediaOne, responsible for nearly $2 billion in revenues, leading all aspects of video product management, including content acquisition and negotiations, customer acquisition and retention, branding and product development.
Before MediaOne, Allen served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Programming for Century Communications Corporation and Vice President, National Accounts, Affiliate Relations at USA Networks. She previously held domestic and international marketing and management positions with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Procter & Gamble, and WJAR-TV in Providence, RI.
Allen serves on the Board of Directors of Rentrak Corporation (ticker: RENT.) She is a former Cable Television Association for Marketing (CTAM) Executive Committee, Board member and TAMI award winner, as well as a frequent speaker, panelist, moderator and highly-regarded Master Course instructor. She is also a frequent speaker for Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT), and has played a key role in their special Strategy, Marketing and Programming Task Forces. In addition to her MBA, Allen received a bachelor’s degree from Brown University in History.
